A mission is a set of one or more actions (conditions) that members complete to earn points or a reward.
About missions
Missions help you guide new members, encourage engagement, collect UGC (content created by your community) and reward active members. A mission can award points or offer another reward, and can be available to everyone or targeted to specific members.
Here are the main types of missions:
Members can complete them and earn the reward only once. They can require members to:
- Submit a screenshot (follow the brand on Instagram, read a blog post…)
- Complete several actions (like and comment a post)
- Complete one action (fill in a profile field)
Once completed, the user receive its points and the mission moves to the Completed missions section.
Members can complete them multiple times. They can have only one condition and cannot include a targeting condition. For example: mission completed and reward earned for each post validated by an admin.
Avoid setting recurring missions that are too easy to repeat (e.g. don’t give 30 points each time a member shares a post on the community). This can lead to excessive point distribution.
These (unique or recurring) missions reward members for actions taken on social media, such as posting on Instagram, TikTok or Youtube with one or more specific hashtags. See this dedicated article for full instructions.
These missions reward members for actions performed outside the community, such as custom action, placing an order or posting a review on the e-shop (if you're integrated with a review management provider).
They are visible and available only to members who meet their targeting conditions (and are unique missions):
- Minimum number of points, minimum status reached, specific role, specific answer to a custom field
- The member is part of a specific group or is attending an event
To set targeted missions, choose a targeting condition and then choose the action condition.
An Exclusive label indicates to the member that the mission is targeted.
Create a mission
Requirements: To create and manage missions, you need the Update settings permission.
Go to Configuration > Gamification > Missions and click on + Add a mission. Then, fill in the following fields:
Main info section
- Title: Keep it short (cut-off after 2 lines).
- (Optional) Add one or more Internal Tag to associate categories with this mission (such as brand or division). Learn more.
- Description: Explain what members need to do and any useful information.
- (Optional) Describe any additional Reward such as a gift. In this case, you will have to export members who completed the mission and arrange delivery separately.
- Image URL: Choose an image to illustrate your mission.
- Nb points to earn: Set the number of points members receive (0 if none). The more important the mission, the more points we recommend giving.
To save time, you can reuse an existing mission by duplicating it, even if it has been archived.
Conditions
Conditions define what actions members must do to complete the mission. You can add one or more conditions: members must meet all of them.
Activate the Mission is recurrent option if you want members to complete the mission multiple times (only one condition).
- Click on + Add a condition and use the dropdown list to select a condition
- Based on the chosen condition, set how many times members must complete the action
(example: if the condition is Commented on post, how many comments are required to validate the mission) - Based on the chosen condition, you can choose to apply the condition to all channels or to a specific one (example : Commented on post, in the Beauty & Care channel)
- You can define a start and/or end date for your condition. These dates define the validity dates of the conditions and the visibility of the mission. More details are explained in the FAQ.
See the list of possible conditions here.
Make sure all conditions are consistent and can be completed together. If one condition cannot be fulfilled, the mission will not be validated.
Set up a start and end date to schedule when the mission will be visible and available. A mission that reaches its end date is automatically archived and no longer available to complete, but remains visible in the back office.
A Be quick! label indicates to members that the mission must be completed before its end date.
If the mission starts as soon as it is created, consider removing the default start date. This is particularly important for conditions linked to roles or custom fields.
Email notification
To promote the mission when you create it, activate Notify users by email about this new mission at the bottom of the mission conditions.
You can also send the notification later from the mission list by selecting Notify by email in the three dots menu.
This notification email will be sent to all opted-in members and cannot be targeted.
Manage missions
Go to Configuration > Gamification > Missions to find and manage your active or achived missions.
Click the + icon located at the bottom left of a mission and select Add a title to create a section.
Drag a mission using the dots next to it to change its position or move it into a section. This way, you can easily group and reorganize your missions as needed to determine how they appear to members.
Click on the three dots on the right corner of the mission and choose Edit.
Update the title, description, image, reward or number of points and save your changes. Please note that you can't edit the condition(s).
Duplicate an active, scheduled or archived mission to create a new mission with the same content and conditions. The original mission remains unchanged.
- Find the mission in the missions list (Live tab or Archive tab).
- Click the three dots on the mission and select Duplicate. A new mission creation form opens.
- Review the copied fields and conditions.
- Activate the email notification option if you want to send an email.
- Save the new mission. It will appear at the bottom of the missions list.
The email notification option is off by default, even if it was enabled on the original mission.
To hide a mission from the list, click the three dots and select Archive. This allows to recover it later in the Archive tab: click the three dots and select Recover this mission.
You cannot recover an archived mission that has reached its end date. Duplicate it to create a new mission, then set new dates on the copy.
You can delete a mission anytime by clicking on the three dots on the right corner of the mission, then Delete.
If you delete a mission, it will not longer be accessible to you or to members of the community. You won't be able to retreive or duplicate it later, and no data will be available.

Can I edit the condition(s) associated with a mission?
No, you can’t. For technical reasons, you can only edit the main info (title, description, icon, number of points, reward…). We recommend to duplicate the mission and choose new conditions.
- Go to Configuration > Look & Feel > Images.
- Upload your image and copy the URL by hovering the image
- Go to the mission’s description and click the image icon
- Paste the URL and click OK
Remember to click the Update this mission button once you’re done.
To discover how to create social missions on Instagram, Youtube or TikTok, see this dedicated article.
To highlight a new mission, in addition to letting members know it’s available (in a post, via email…), you can:
- Put it in a dedicated section (example: Monthly Exclusive Missions)
- Put the name in square brackets
- Promote it thanks to the email notification
Case 1: Condition A has no start date, but has an end date
The mission is displayed as soon as it is created and remains visible until the end date of Condition A (if the member has not yet completed it).
Case 2: Condition A has a start date, but no end date
The mission is displayed from the start date of Condition A and remains always visible.
Case 3: Condition A has both a start date and an end date
The mission is displayed from the start date of Condition A and remains visible until the end date of Condition A (if the member has not yet completed it).
Case 4: Condition A has a start date, but no end date + Condition B has neither a start nor an end date
The mission is displayed from the start date of Condition A and remains always visible.
Case 5: Condition A has a start date, but no end date + Condition B has no start date but has an end date
The mission is displayed from the start date of Condition A.

- If they don't complete Condition B before the end date, the mission will not be visible after the end date.
Case 6: Condition A has both + Condition B has no start date but has an end date
The mission is displayed from the start date of Condition A.

- If either end date passes before its condition is completed, the mission will not be visible anymore, even if the other condition has a later deadline.
Case 7: Condition A has both + Condition B has a start date but has no end date
The mission is displayed from the latest start date between the two conditions.
- If members complete Condition A before its end date, the mission remains visible and available for them after Condition A end date, they can still complete Condition B.

Case 8: Condition A & Condition B have both a start date and an end date
