Social campaigns (mission, product testing, contest) invite members to post on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube in exchange for community rewards.
A post created as part of an incentive campaign may legally be considered an advertisement. You can therefore ask members to include compliance hashtags and/or wording to reward only compliant posts.

Campaign types
First, create the campaign that matches your goal:
- A mission, with a Hashtag / Social post requirement. Learn how to create a mission.
- A product test, with a Social campaign asset. Learn how to create a product test.
- A contest, with a Social media type. Learn how to create a contest.
Configuration
Once the campaign has been created, configuring the social post follows the same steps for all three types:
-
Select the relevant social network: Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube.
- List all required hashtags without spaces or special characters (except _).
- Optional | Enable the compliance wording and enter one or more wordings (10 max). Members will need to select one for their caption (e.g. In collaboration with @brand).
- Optional | Enable the option to place the compliance wording before the See more fold.
Editing the hashtags of a published and active campaign may prevent approval for members who are currently participating.
Social campaign targeting
When configuring the requirements for a social mission or a product test with a Social campaign asset, certain targeting requirements apply automatically. They determine which members can see and participate in the campaign, based on their situation.
Members see the social missions they can actually participate in. For example, an Instagram-related mission is only visible to a member if they have added or linked their Instagram account in the community.
The button is displayed in the member’s profile if:
- The community has at least one social field configured
- AND the member has not completed at least one of these fields
Once the social account is linked, the corresponding missions automatically become visible.
The button is not displayed if:
- The member has already completed all the social fields configured in the community
- OR no social field is configured in the community
This targeting helps reduce frustration by displaying the missions that are actually accessible to the member, and encourages them to link their social profiles to unlock additional missions.
The Social campaign asset of a product test is only visible to members who have been selected or accepted as testers for that product test.
It is located in their profile, in the Your active test campaigns section above the list of missions.
Other members do not see this asset and therefore cannot participate in the product test until they are selected or accepted as testers.
Validation
Once the campaign has been published, members can discover its conditions, participate, and submit their post for validation in order to earn the associated rewards.
Learn more about the member flow and validation process.
Validation criteria
To have their participation validated, the post selected by the member must meet all of the following criteria (AND logic):
- Contain all required hashtags (configured content and compliance hashtags)
- Contain at least one of the configured compliance wordings, if applicable
- Place the compliance wording at the beginning of the caption (before the See more fold) if the option is enabled
Members can copy all required hashtags & the compliance wording in one click.
After a post is published/edited, we recommend waiting 5 minutes before trying to submit the participation.
This is the automatic moderation period on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube for a post to be approved and for changes to become visible.
Monitoring and fraud prevention
Check whether a member has completed the mission
If a member contacts you because they have not been rewarded for the mission, you can easily check whether they met all the required conditions by using this checklist.
Otherwise, to avoid errors or claims from members who have not been rewarded, here are the points to monitor:
- Hashtags must not contain accents or special characters (other than _)
- There must be no error in the hashtag, otherwise it will not be detected
- The total number of hashtags, including compliance hashtags, must not exceed 5
- The member’s Instagram, YouTube, and/or TikTok account must be public
- The member must have correctly added their handle or linked their Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube account in the community before publishing
- It is recommended to wait 5 minutes after publishing/editing the post before submitting it
- Points may take up to 24 hours to be credited to the member’s account
- If compliance hashtags are configured, all of them must be present in the post’s caption
- If one or more compliance wordings are configured, the caption must contain one of the wordings (case-insensitive and accent-insensitive)
- If the option to place the wording at the beginning of the caption is enabled, the compliance wording must appear before the See more fold
Error messages are specific. Members can see whether it is a content hashtag, a compliance hashtag, or the compliance wording that is missing or incorrectly placed.
Fraud prevention
Once a social campaign participation has been validated, the platform periodically checks that the associated post remains online and still contains the required compliance elements.
- The post is checked daily for the first 7 days.
- It is then checked twice a week between day 7 and day 30.
- It is checked once a week between day 30 and day 60.
- A final check is carried out on day 90, with daily follow-ups until day 97 if necessary.
If a post is deleted or no longer contains the required hashtags, it is flagged as non-compliant. This information is not visible in the back office and is available only on request via an internal data export.
No rewards are automatically revoked. This mechanism is used to monitor and discourage fraudulent behavior, not to automatically moderate posts.
