The gamification dashboards let you track, analyze and export data related to gamification within your community.
In Statistics > Gamification, you can access 5 dashboards (tabs):
- Missions to track completed missions, points earned and rewarded members.
- Badges to analyze badges awarded to members.
- Statuses to track statuses earned and their distribution within the community.
- Roles to view roles assigned and role requests.
- Power BI board to access the former Gamification dashboard, including the user activity detail.
General information
The main filters are located at the top of the dashboard. Depending on the dashboard, you can select a period using a date selector or refine the results using a dropdown list.
- Some charts also allow you to use their own filters to display a specific view when this option is available.
- Hover over a chart with your mouse to display detailed information about the data.
- When a chart contains a legend, you can click on the legend items to show/hide them in the chart.
In tables, click on a column title to sort the results in ascending or descending order.
When a chart or data can be exported, an export icon button is available in the top right. Click this button to export the data in .csv format.
The export is limited to 10,000 rows.
Missions
The Missions dashboard (Statistics > Gamification > Missions) lets you track completed missions, points earned and rewarded members. Use it to identify the missions that generate the most participation and compare their performance between two periods.
The filters are located at the top of the dashboard. Select the dates for the first period, then those for the comparison period. You can also refine the results using the Mission name and Mission status dropdown lists:
- Mission name: select one or more missions to analyze their results, or keep all missions to get an overview.
- Mission status: display and compare results based on the mission status: Active, Inactive or Deleted.
By default, only active missions are displayed.
To compare two periods, make sure the selected dates cover comparable durations. You will be able to interpret the differences displayed in the indicators and charts more easily.
At the top of the dashboard, three key indicators summarize the results for the selected period.
- Points earned: total number of points earned through missions during the period.
- Users rewarded: number of distinct members who received a reward related to missions.
- Number of rewards: number of completed missions (a member can complete several missions, so it is normal for the number of rewards to be higher than the number of users rewarded).
Below each value, you can find the value for the comparison period and its percentage variation (the arrow and color indicate whether the value increased or decreased compared to the comparison period).
An increase is not necessarily positive in all cases: for example, more points earned may reflect stronger participation, but also a greater number of missions or higher rewards.
Compare the three indicators together to understand the trend.
The Completions over time chart shows the trend in the number of completed missions during the selected period. If completions increase or decrease, compare this trend with your program changes, the launch of new missions or your community’s activity periods.
Data is displayed weekly (by default) or monthly. Here is how to choose:
- Use the weekly view to identify short-term variations, such as an increase or decrease in participation.
- Use the monthly view to track the overall trend and compare trends from one month to another.
The Completions per mission chart ranks the number of completions for each mission in descending order, directly comparing the two periods.
- Identify the missions with the most completions in each period.
- Compare the two periods to see which missions are growing, decreasing or remaining stable.
- Hover over the bars to view the detailed values (number of completions for both periods).
To interpret an increase in completions, also take into account the number of rewarded members and points earned. These indicators help you distinguish a growth in the number of participants from an increase in the number of missions completed by the same members.
Badges
The Badges dashboard (Statistics > Gamification > Badges) lets you track the number of rewarded members and badges awarded. It helps you identify the most frequently earned badges over a given period.
The dashboard has a date filter at the top of the page. Select the period you want to analyze.
At the top of the dashboard, two key indicators summarize badge awards for the selected period.
- Users rewarded: number of distinct members who earned at least one badge during the period.
- Number of rewards: total number of badges awarded during the period. A member can earn several badges.
Compare the two indicators to distinguish the number of rewarded members from the total number of badges awarded. If the number of awards increases faster than the number of members, some members may have earned several badges.
The Awards per badge chart compares the number of awards for each badge. Each bar represents a badge (with a breakdown by badge level), and is ranked by descending number of awards.
- Identify the most frequently awarded badges to see which ones members earn most often.
- Compare the levels to see which ones contribute the most to awards for each badge.
- Hover over a section of the bar to view the number of awards and their share of the total.
A high number of awards does not necessarily mean that a large number of different members earned the badge. To interpret the chart, also check the Users rewarded indicator.
Statuses
The Statuses dashboard (Statistics > Gamification > Statuses) lets you track statuses earned by members and analyze their distribution within the community.
The Statuses dashboard has a date filter and a dropdown list to select one or more statuses. Use these filters to analyze results over a given period or focus on a specific status.
At the top of the dashboard, two key indicators summarize the results related to statuses for the selected period:
- Status earned: number of statuses earned during the period.
- Users rewarded: number of distinct members who earned a status.
A member may have earned several statuses during the period. The number of statuses earned may therefore be higher than the number of rewarded members.
- The Status adoption chart compares members who have a status with those who do not. It helps you assess the share of members who have reached at least one status.
- The Users per status chart shows the distribution of statuses among members who have at least one.
In the Users per status distribution, each member is counted only once and associated with their highest status. Use this view to understand how members are distributed based on their current level.
The Statuses earned by type chart displays the number of distinct members who earned each status, month by month. Use it to identify the periods when members progress to a status or to compare trends between the different statuses.
Each member is counted once per status in this chart. The same member can therefore be counted for several statuses if they earned more than one.
The Status earned in the period table details the statuses earned during the selected period. The results are ranked from the highest to the lowest number.
- Identify the statuses most frequently earned during the period.
- Click on a column title to sort the results in ascending or descending order.
Roles
The Roles dashboard (Statistics > Gamification > Roles) lets you track roles assigned to members, role requests and the distribution of roles within the community.
The roles earned indicators only take into account roles that are granted. To view data related to rejected or pending requests, check the Chart 3: Requestable role per status.
The Roles dashboard has a date filter at the top of the page. Select the period you want to analyze.
At the top of the dashboard, two key indicators summarize the results related to roles for the selected period:
- Role earned: number of roles granted during the period.
- Users rewarded: number of distinct members who earned a role.
A member can earn several roles. The number of roles granted may therefore be higher than the number of rewarded members.
The Users per role chart shows the distribution of the number of members associated with each role. You can use it to identify the most common roles in the community since they are ranked in descending order.
The Role assignments over time chart shows the number of roles assigned each month, with a breakdown by role. Use it to identify the periods when roles are most frequently awarded and see which roles contribute to this trend.
The Roles earned breakdown table shows the detail of roles assigned during the period. The results are ranked from the highest to the lowest number, helping you identify the roles most frequently assigned.
Click on the Assignments column title to sort the results in ascending or descending order.
- The Requestable role by status chart shows role requests based on their status: Rejected, Granted and Requested (pending).
- The Role distribution chart compares members who have at least one role with those who do not.
Member detail
To view completed missions, points earned and statuses and badges earned for specific members, use the User detail view in Statistics > Gamification > Power BI board.
- Apply the desired period using the date filter.
- Search for the member using their email address or nickname.
You can export the member’s activities and add up the points earned in an Excel file. If you notice a discrepancy in the number of points, contact your CSM to review the situation.
