Internal Tag enables internal categorization of contests, missions, and product testing campaigns, to improve efficiency on multi-brand / multi-division reporting.
The corresponding filter in dashboards will be available soon. However, it is important to start tagging animations now to benefit from data historization.
Internal Tag: what are the benefits?
In multi-brand communities, it is often necessary to produce reporting by brand or by division. Adding one or more Internal Tags to animations (contests, missions, product tests) allows you to:
- Filter and aggregate performance by brand / division directly in dashboards.
- Make multi-brand reporting fast and self-serve, without manual reprocessing.
- Improve readability and steering: analyses become comparable across animation types, which helps identify what performs best and optimize upcoming content.
Using the Internal Tag feature then represents a major time saving for teams managing the community and analyzing data, as well as more granular performance steering.
Add an Internal Tag
The Internal Tag field is available when creating or editing:
- A mission: between the title and the description.
- A product testing campaign: between the campaign name and the campaign description.
- A contest: between the name and the description.
In the creation/editing form, look for the Internal Tag field. It is optional: you can create a mission, a contest, or a product testing campaign without filling it in.
Clicking in the field opens a dropdown menu showing existing categories. You can select multiple (multi-select). Selected categories appear as labels just above the field.
If the desired category does not exist, enter its name in the field and validate the creation. The new category is immediately added to the selection for this animation.
Each displayed label has a cross. Click it to remove the category from the selection. The field updates immediately.
These categories are never visible on the community side to members. They are for internal reporting purpose only.
Best practices
Define a simple naming convention (for example: by brand, by division) so that filters remain consistent over time.
Use the field systematically on new animations, even if the reporting filter is not yet available: this builds the history needed for future analyses.
Check the existing list before creating a new category to avoid duplicates.
If you create a category whose name already exists, validation is blocked and a message indicates that the category already exists. Change the name to continue.
