Selecting the right testers is an essential step in getting relevant contributions and achieving the goals of your product testing campaign.
If the AI Member Profile Matching feature is available in your community, it will appear above the member table to help you prioritize the most relevant profiles before confirming your testers.
Before you start, discover how to set up and manage a product testing campaign.
Open campaign
Members can apply freely to an open campaign during the application phase. You can then review the applicants and select the testers for the campaign.
Selecting applicants in an open campaign closes the application phase. Make sure you have received enough applications before you start selecting testers.
Go to Animation > Product Testing and open the relevant campaign. In the Applications tab, you’ll find all the applicants for this campaign in a table with their main information:
Selecting testers
You can select testers from the applicant list in two ways. Click a method title to display its instructions:
Step 1 - Apply filters
First, filter applicants by the conditions required to participate in the campaign (country, connected social account). Then refine the list using criteria specific to the product test, such as custom field responses or completion rate.
Use the Quick filters above the table to access the most frequently used criteria for tester selection. Click More filters to display all available filters and activate the ones you need.
- Nickname = The member’s username. (text)
- Currently participating to a test = Whether the user has a status other than TestReviewValidated in an ongoing campaign. (dropdown or All if no option is selected)
- Points = Number of points earned by the member. (min and/or max numeric selectors)
- Last participation date = Date of the member’s most recent test participation. (min and/or max date selectors)
- Completion rate = Product test completion rate. (min and/or max numeric selectors)
-
Number of testings (last 3 months) = Number of product test participations in the last 3 months.
(min and/or max numeric selectors) - Tags (dropdown or All if no option is selected)
- Testings participation = Product testing campaigns the member has participated in. (dropdown or All if no option is selected)
Click More filters to open a side panel containing all available filters, organized by category:
- General info: Nickname, User ID, Email, Birth date, Country, Town, Tags, Groups
- Activity: Badges, Points, Roles, Status, Has user accepted marketing email, Last interaction, Last visited date
- Other: Creation date, Subscribed to push, Number of completed product tests
- Product Testing: Completion rate, Currently participating to a test, Last participation date, Number of testings (last 3 months), Testings participation
- Socials: Social platform, Handle, Engagement, Followers count, Last post date
- Custom Fields: All Custom Fields configured for the community appear here. For a text filter, enter the first few characters to display all matching results.
The Groups filter only appears if at least one group is configured for the community.
Socials filters only appear if at least one social Custom Field is configured. They are displayed separately for each social network (Instagram/TikTok/YouTube).
Filters are applied to the list before you select candidates. If you change a filter, check the number of applicants displayed before selecting them.
Step 2 - Choose the columns
Some columns are displayed by default in the tester selection context. You can activate additional columns by clicking Columns.
- User = profile picture, username and User ID.
- Tags
- Points = Number of points earned by the member.
- Posts = The three most recent posts on the platform (Instagram, TikTok, and/or YouTube). You can click a post to open it in a new tab on the relevant platform.
- Completion rate = Completion rate for product tests.
- Acceptance rate = The member’s acceptance rate for product testing campaigns.
- Last participation date = Date of the member’s most recent product test participation.
Posts columns only appear if at least one social Custom Field is configured. They are displayed separately for each social network (Instagram/TikTok/YouTube).

Step 3 - Select testers
After applying the filters and displaying the columns relevant to your product testing campaign, you can also sort the list using Sort by (for example, by number of points or completion rate).
Select the candidates you want as testers. If a profile looks suitable but you want to see more information, click the relevant row to open the member’s profile details.
Then click Confirm selection to confirm your choices. Remember to check the number displayed.
Before exporting, remember to activate the filters and columns you need to narrow the list down to relevant profiles. See Steps 1 and 2 in the From the back office method.
Then follow these steps to filter the profiles outside the back office:
Step 1 - Export the list
Once you have applied the filters and columns, click the Export button in the top-right corner of the table. A .csv file will be downloaded automatically.
Step 2 - Filter the profiles outside the back office
- Open the CSV file in Excel or a similar tool.
- Filter and sort the candidates according to your needs, keeping only the profiles you are interested in.
- Once your list is ready, keep only the "Id" column without changing its name.
- Delete all other columns and check that there are no empty rows, empty columns or duplicate IDs, otherwise the import will fail.
- Save the modified file in .csv format.
Step 3 - Import the tester list
Return to the Applications tab of your campaign and click Import list in the top-left corner. Select your file and confirm your choices.
The imported file must contain only one column named Id.
It must not contain any empty rows, empty columns or duplicate values.
What happens after you select testers?
When you confirm your selection, the selected members automatically receive an email and a notification. You can click Download CSV to download the information you need to run your product test, including tester and shipping details.
Once testers are selected, the campaign moves to the Testing status. The application phase closes, so new applications are no longer possible. However, you can still select additional testers from the remaining applicants if you want to complete your selection.
Invitation-only campaign
In an invitation-only campaign, members do not apply on their own. You choose which members to invite before launching the campaign. They can then accept or decline the invitation.
When you create a product testing campaign in Animation > Product Testing > + Create new, you can select By invitation only in step 3 of the setup (Campaign type).
Inviting testers
Follow these steps to invite specific members to become testers for this campaign:
Use the filters (Quick filters to access the criteria most often used when inviting testers, and More filters to display all available filters and activate the ones you need). For example, set a minimum number of points or completion rate, or select a specific tag.
- Nickname = The member’s username. (text)
- Currently participating to a test = Whether the user has a status other than TestReviewValidated in an ongoing campaign. (dropdown or All if no option is selected)

-
Number of testings (last 3 months) = Number of product test participations in the last 3 months.
(min and/or max numeric selectors) - Tags (dropdown or All if no option is selected)
- Testings participation = Product testing campaigns the member has participated in. (dropdown or All if no option is selected)

First, define the maximum number of testers you want to allow for this campaign. For example, 200.
Once the filters and columns meet the needs of your campaign, check that the number of profiles displayed does not exceed the maximum number of testers you set for the campaign.
The number of profiles displayed must be less than or equal to the maximum number of testers you defined. If this is the case, you can click Confirm testers.
What happens after you invite testers?
After you click Confirm testers, the selected members receive an invitation by email and notification. They can accept or decline the invitation. You can track their responses in the campaign details.
You can manually close the invitation phase when you think you have enough testers by clicking End invitation phase. The campaign then moves to the Testing status.
