A social mission is a gamification action designed to engage your community on social platforms such as Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
Social posts that are part of a product testing or other incentivized campaign may be legally considered ads. You can require specific compliance hashtags and/or wording to reward only compliant posts.

Create a social mission
A social mission invites users to publish on Instagram, TikTok, and/or YouTube using one or more specific hashtags, then rewards them with points or progression in the community.
New configuration: Hashtag / Social Post condition
Social mission configuration has been simplified. You no longer have to create a separate External Action.
You configure a Hashtag / Social Post condition directly when creating the mission.
In Configuration > Gamification > Missions, click the button + Add a mission, then follow these steps:
- Fill in the mission information fields (title, description, reward, image, and points to earn).
- In conditions, choose Hashtag /Social Post and select the platform: Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube.
- List all required hashtags: content & compliance hashtags (no spaces or special characters, except underscores).
- Optional: activate compliance wording and enter the required ad disclosure elements that members must include in their caption (for example: In collaboration with @brand)
- Optional: activate First position if the compliance wording must appear before the See more fold in the caption.
- Optional: you can define a period for the mission. The end date is set by default to one month.
Compliance wording checks are case and accent-insensitive.
If the mission starts from creation, it is recommended to remove the default date (creation date). This is particularly important if conditions are linked to roles or Custom Fields.
A CTA appears in members' profiles to link their social networks to unlock more missions if:
- The community has at least one social field configured (authentication or handle)
- AND the member hasn't filled in at least one of these fields
In this case, all social missions linked to the social network not yet filled in by the member are not visible.
They are automatically unlocked once the social network is linked.
This button is not displayed if:
- The member has filled in all social fields configured on the community
- OR no social field is configured on the community
This CTA helps reduce frustration by hiding missions linked to social networks the member hasn't yet linked, and helps them quickly unlock additional missions with a clear call-to-action.
Mission participation and validation
Once the mission is published, members can participate and validate it. For this, members follow the process described in this dedicated article, which explains in detail:
- The mission participation process for members
- The process and validation rules for social missions
Social mission validation criteria
To validate the mission, the selected post must meet all the following criteria (AND logic):
- Contain all required hashtags, including content hashtags and compliance hashtags if configured (maximum 5 hashtags, no spaces, accents, or special characters)
- If compliance wording is configured, contain the required wording in the caption
- If the First position option is activated, display the compliance wording before the See more fold
- The member's Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube account must be public
- The member must have filled in their social account handle for Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube on the community before publishing
Members can copy all required hashtags & compliance wording in one click.
We recommend asking users to wait 5 minutes after publishing or modifying their post before attempting to validate the mission. This corresponds to the automatic moderation delay on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube for a publication to be approved and for edits to become visible.
How to check if a user has completed the mission?
If users contact you because they were not rewarded, you can easily verify if they published with all required conditions using this checklist.
Otherwise, to avoid errors or claims from unrewarded users, here are the points to monitor:
- Hashtags must not contain accents or special characters (other than _)
- There must be no mistake in the hashtag, otherwise it will not be detected
- The total number of hashtags, including compliance hashtags, must not exceed 5
- The member's Instagram, YouTube, and/or TikTok account(s) must be public
- The member must have correctly filled in their Instagram, YouTube, and/or TikTok handle on the community before publishing
- It is recommended to wait 5 minutes after publishing or modifying the publication before submitting their post
- Points can take up to 24 hours to be credited to the user's account
- If compliance hashtags are configured, all of them must be present in the post
- If compliance wording is configured, the required phrase must appear in the caption
- If the First position option is activated, the compliance wording must appear before the See more fold
- If one compliance element is missing, the member sees a specific error message and can correct and resubmit the post
Error messages are designed to be specific. Members can see whether a content hashtag, a compliance hashtag, or the compliance wording is missing or misplaced.
