Statuses are a key gamification tool that reflect and highlight a user’s level based on their activity and contributions.
Creating a status
With statuses, you can grant privileges, restrict access to certain areas, and reward engagement with badges, missions, or other forms of recognition.
Step 1: Main information
- Go to Config > Gamification > Statuses
- Click on "+ Add a status"
- Fill in the main information for this new status:
Name: Name displayed in the profile and next to the name if no icon is selected.
Description: Displayed in the profile to explain what the status is about.
Icon: If an icon is selected, it will appear next to the username without the status name.
Background image: Optional but recommended, will appear in the profile to highlight the status.
Step 2: Rewards
Once you've configured the basic status, you can move to the "Reward" section. Enter the reward(s) you wish to assign upon status acquisition.
There are 2 types of configurable rewards:
A dropdown list will allow you to choose the channel to which the status grants access. It displays all existing channels, regardless of their visibility rule.
You can edit and/or remove this reward at any time. You can configure as many “Grant access to channel” rewards as you'd like.
Clicking will open a text field where you can indicate the reward obtained (goodies, voucher, exclusive meeting, etc.).
Note: Only one “free text” per status can be configured. The field can be edited and deleted at any time.
You can also add the "Hidden info" field, allowing you to indicate information that will only be visible to the member once they have earned the status (such as a special promo code).
You can configure both a "Write free text" reward and one or more "Grant access to channel" rewards, especially for higher-level statuses.
Step 3: Conditions
In the "Conditions" section, you can choose one or more conditions that the user must meet to receive this status. The selection is very diverse, allowing you to create statuses tailored to your needs.
Depending on the type of condition chosen, you can set a target value, and also decide whether the condition must be met in a specific channel or anywhere.
Once done, click on "Create"
For example, if you choose a “Gallery” page for the “Posted a message” condition, then the user will only receive the status if they post in that specific channel.
Editing a status
To edit a status, simply click on the “Edit” button next to it:
You can edit all previously created fields. However, to edit or remove the conditions, it is important to talk to your CSM first.
Indeed, if you delete or edit a status condition, users who only met the other conditions will not automatically receive this status. They will need to perform an action on their profile (such as editing their bio) or reconfirm one of the required conditions to obtain it.
Organizing status levels
When a new status is created, it is automatically added to the end of the list. To change its position, you must manually move it using the icon to drag and drop.
